Guenther’s dik dik

These tiny little antelopes were a delight to watch at Mpala ranch. They will stand and stare at you before bolting off in full flight.

They can be distinguished from their closely related cousins (Kirk’s dik dik) by their elongated snout.

The bare black spot below each eye contains a gland that produces a dark sticky secretion which they use to mark their territory by depositing these secretions on tips of grasses and twigs.
